Body recovered from canal

A 23-year-old man was recovered from canal in Mughalpura police limits on Wednesday. The body of unidentified victim was floating in the canal. Some locals witnessed the body and informed Rescue-1122. The rescuers and police fished-out the body. There were no marks of torture on his body. Police removed the body to morgue.

Youth dies: A 12-year-old boy was crushed to death in a road accident in Manga Mandi police limits on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Waheed. He was travelling on a bike with one, Sarwar. As they reached near Shamkay Bhatian a speeding rickshaw hit them.

As a result they fell and came under a trailer. Waheed died on the spot while Sarwar received injuries. Sarwar was shifted to hospital. Police said legal action was being taken against the accused. Police removed the body to morgue.

Meanwhile, a 45-year-old bike rider was killed by a car in Nishtar Colony on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Shabir Mohammad. He was passing through Ferozpur Road on a bike when a car hit him. As a result he received fatal injuries.

The car rider flew away the scene. Shabir was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. arrested: Sundar Police claimed to have arrested a gang of dacoits and recovered booty and illegal weapons from their possession on Wednesday.

The accused persons of Habib alias Habibu gang were identified as Habib Habibu, Imran and Sajid. The accused were involved in more than 70 cases of dacoity and street crimes. Meanwhile, Anti Vehicles Lifting Authority Model Town arrested two persons and recovered eight cars, two bikes and illegal weapons from their possession. The arrested men were identified as Jamshed Iqbal and Murid Abbas.

found dead: A man was found dead in limits of Tibbi City police on Wednesday.

Police claimed the man, yet to be identified, was an addict and died due to an overdose of drugs. Police shifted the body to morgue.
