Body of missing student found
ABBOTTABAD: The body of the missing student of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology has been recovered from Ghazi Barotha Canal after more than 50 days, father of the deceased told The News on Tuesday.
Fatehul Aziz, father of the missing student Hamza Farooqi of COMSATS, told The News by telephone that the body of his son was recovered from Ghazi Barotha Canal on Monday and was later buried in his ancestral graveyard at Marghuz village in Swabi.
Hamza Farooqi, 20, a student of BBA, had gone missing on January 18. A first information report (FIR) was registered at the Mirpur Police Station. Fatehul Aziz, who hails from Swabi but is residing in Telephone Factory area, Haripur, said according to the cell-phone record, Hamza’s location was Sirikot Road at around 4pm and later 4.55pm his location was shown at Ghazi on the missing date.
Hamza’s elder brother Fahad told The News that his last contact with his brother was around 5pm on the missing day. “Hamza wanted to discuss with me something about papers and marks. I told him to call him back after some time but did not do so,” he added.Fatehul Aziz had tried his level best for the safe recovery of his son but in vain.
