LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the schedule for the National Women’s One-Day Tournament 2023/24, featuring six regional teams in the 50-over tournament. The tournament is set to commence on 17th April and will culminate on 11th May, with the final match to be held at the iconic Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.
The six regional teams competing in the tournament are Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, and Rawalpindi. The tournament will adopt a double round-robin format, ensuring each team plays a minimum of 10 matches. A total of 31 matches will be contested during the 25-day event, with matches commencing at 9:30 am local time.
The winning team of the tournament will be awarded a cash prize of PKR one million, while the runners-up will receive PKR 0.5 million. Individual performers will also be recognized, with the player of the tournament receiving PKR 50,000 and the player of the match in each game earning PKR 20,000. Additionally, awards of PKR 25,000 each will be presented to the best batter, best bowler, and best wicket-keeper of the tournament.
The four-member women’s national selection committee, led by Saleem Jaffar, has announced the squads for the six regional teams participating in the tournament.
While Karachi and Lahore sides consist of 15 players each, the remaining four teams comprise 14 players each. The 15th player for the other teams will be selected from Pakistan women’s 20-member probables squad, with five additional players serving as reserves for each side.
