Sindh’s Moeed clinches 100m gold

KARACHI: Abdul Moeed Baloch of Sindh and Turab Zaira of Punjab clinched men’s and women’s 100m gold medals, respectively, in the athletics competitions of the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad on Monday.

Abdul Moeed of Sindh clocked 11.07 seconds, while Zaira recorded 13.51.

The women’s 100m silver went to Khadija of Punjab with a timing of 13.88, while Shafaq of Sindh got bronze by clocking 14.01.

In 1500m Tahreem Alam of Punjab picked gold, Saba of Punjab got silver, while Shafaq of Sindh clinched bronze.

The 4X100m relay gold went to Punjab, while Sindh and Balochistan captured silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Rubab Munir of Punjab captured got high jump gold, while Esha of Punjab and Faryal Farooq of AJK picked silver and bronze medals, respectively.

In long jump, Nabila Riaz of AJK claimed gold, Shafaq of Sindh got silver, while Asmat Rehmat of Punjab claimed bronze.

The shot put gold went to Punjab’s Sadia, while Aimen of Punjab and Nabila of AJK got silver and bronze medals, respectively.

The discus throw gold was clinched by Sadia of Punjab. Aman Naeem of Punjab and Tayyaba of AJK went away with silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Punjab’s Gulnaz clinched javelin throw gold, while Sadia of Punjab and Hina of Islamabad captured silver and bronze medals, respectively.

The men’s 100m silver went to Laeeq Naved of Punjab with a timing of 11.12, while Usman Sultan of Sindh got bronze with 11.31.

In 800m, Umar Sadat of Sindh clinched gold, while Azmatulah Niazi of Punjab and Adnan of Balochistan got silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Mohammad Irfan of Balochistan got the 5000m gold, while Ramzan of Punjab and Mohammad Ishfaq of Punjab clinched silver and bronze medals, respectively.

The 110m hurdles gold went to Farhan Ilyas of Punjab, while Mohsin Naved of Punjab and Ehsan Raza of KP got silver and bronze medals, respectively.

The 4X400m relay gold was won by Punjab, while KP and Sindh clinched silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Omar Ihtisham of Punjab got the high jump gold, while Shoaib of KP and Hamza Ahmed of AJK won silver and bronze, respectively.

In triple jump Adnan Jehangir of Punjab got gold, Zeeshan of Punjab clinched silver, while Shoaib Khan of KP won bronze.

Rana Antash of Punjab got shot put gold, while Zain of Balochistan and Zohaib of KP got silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Shah Nawaz of Punjab got the discus throw gold, while Danish Mehmood of Punjab and Huzran of FATA got silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Mohammad Yasir of Punjab got the javelin throw gold, while Abu Sufyan of Punjab and Shahab Khan of KP got silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Punjab won men’s table tennis gold after beating Sindh. Islamabad and KP captured bronze medals.

The women’s team event table tennis gold also went to Punjab when they whacked Sindh in the final.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad got bronze medals.

Punjab’s pair of Afzaal and Hafeez and KP’s pair of Ummam and Arbaz qualified for the men’s doubles final.

Punjab also clinched women team event badminton gold when they outgunned KP in the final.

Islamabad and Sindh got bronze medals.

The men’s team event badminton gold also went to Punjab when they edged past KP in the final.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Islamabad captured bronze medals.

Islamabad qualified for the final of women hockey when they overpowered Balochistan 2-1 in the semi-final.

Sindh’s Zahab Khan clinched squash women’s singles gold after beating Aimen Shehbaz of Punjab 3-0 in the final.

Punjab (973 points) led overall with 33 gold, 21 silver and ten bronze. They were followed by Sindh (411 points) which they got by virtue of four gold, 16 silver and 12 bronze medals. KP (375 points) were at the third place with  seven gold, seven silver and  18 bronze medals.
