LAHORE
A 14-year-old boy expired in hospital on Sunday, shortly after he went unconscious while playing in a swimming pool in the limits of Badami Bagh police station.
The boy identified as Mohammad Azeem along with his friends came to a swimming pool at Morcha Stop where he suddenly went unconscious. He was rushed to hospital where he breathed his last. Police shifted the body to morgue.
Meanwhile, a six-month old girl expired in hospital on Sunday, a few hours after she received burns in her Guldasht Colony house.The girl was identified as Mehvish, daughter of Riaz of Bahar Shah Road, Al-Faisal Town.
It was reported that the minor girl received burns when a fire erupted in a room due to short circuit. She was taken to hospital where she expired.
FOUND DEAD: A 25-year-old youth was found lying dead in a local park in the limits of Lorri Adda police station on Sunday.Police claimed that the youth, yet to be identified, was an addict who might have died of excessive use of drugs. Police shifted the body to mortuary.
FIRE: Good worth lakhs of rupees were burnt when a fire broke out in a department store in the basement of a plaza in the Misri Shah area on Sunday.Cause of fire was said to be short circuit. In another incident, fire broke out in a shoe factory in the limits of Shahdara area. On being informed, the firefighters rushed to the spots and extinguished fire after hectic efforts. No casualty was reported.
As per rescuers, it was really challenging fire operation in a pack basement. Fire rescuers used latest techniques to extinguish fire like Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) specially designed for fire rescuers in smoky areas. Thermal imager Cam also enhanced the capacity and vision of rescuers to detect fire and heat of incident place even in darkness. Overall, fire was completely controlled and cooling process was in progress.
Boy abused: A ten-year-old boy was sexually abused by a youth in Shahdara area on Sunday.
The accused identified as Suleman took the boy, Ali Nawaz, to his house and abused him. Police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of the boy’s father Nawaz and arrested him.
