After making a mark in theatre with his spectacular performances in almost all of Anwar Maqsood’s plays including Aangan Terha and Sawa Chauda August, a commendable film debut in Karachi Se Lahore and giving us enough reasons to laugh our heads off at the LSAs 2015, it’s confirmed that Yasir Hussain is here to stay.
The writer-turned actor has a number of projects under his sleeve including the recently-announced, directorial debut of actress Yasra Rizvi, titled Senti Aur Mental. Speaking of his role and the film’s plot, Yasir revealed, “It’s a lead role. The film is based on two people; one is senti and the other is mental. I am the mental one, with Yasra Rizvi playing the role of senti.”Artist Yousuf Bashir Qureshi will also be seen in the film in a supporting role.
In a pool of comedies that have recently made their way into cinemas, Yasir assured Senti Aur Mental will be quite different from the rest. “It’s a character-driven movie and that’s how it’s different since this is a rare concept in Pakistani movies. It’s a beautiful story that has comedy, drama and emotion.”
The shooting for the film will begin in September this year and the film is expected to release in 2017, but before that Yasir will be seen in Karachi Se Lahore 2, which is scheduled for a release this year.
