Motorcycle Girl, an upcoming film from writer/director Adnan Sarwar that stars Sohai Ali Abro in the lead role, has been in the works for some time now. Along with the release of the film’s official poster, the movie’s arrival date has been confirmed as well.
Scheduled to release on April 20, 2018, it stars Sohai in a rather unconventional role. Though details about the ensemble cast of Motorcycle Girl had been kept under wraps, some of those names have finally become public.
We now know that Ali Kazmi is starring in the film and will be seen essaying a key role. The actor, confirming this news to Instep, stated, “It’s a superb cast and crew. I really just wanted to work with Adnan and Jami, they are both very true to the art of filmmaking, so we had a bike race, I won and the prize is being in this film.”
“It shall be a beautiful marriage of commercial and indie art cinema/storytelling,” he added.Speaking of his co-star Sohai, Ali continued, “People will get to see a different side of Sohai and what a brilliant performer she is. I am proud and excited to be a part of such a valuable and powerful story. Zenith Irfan, the motorcycle girl, is an amazing woman! In the climate of women empowerment and change, this’ll be a game changer.”
Motorcycle Girl is co-produced by Jami (the man behind Moor and some of the most beautiful music videos this country has seen) and also stars Samina Peerzada, Sarmad Khoosat and Shamim Hilali.
The film is written and directed by Adnan Sarwar, whose claim to fame is the critically acclaimed 2015 feature film, Shah - that is based on the real-life story of Pakistani boxer Syed Hussain Shah.
