Joining the league of TV actresses, who are quickly moving to the big screen tapping into Pakistani cinema’s revival, is actress Sana Javed. The actress, who is currently showcasing her acting chops in ongoing drama serial Zara Yaad kar as the selfish girl who betrays her husband, is all set to play the lead character in Aamir Mohiuddin’s untitled directorial debut.

In a quick conversation with Instep, Javed confirmed the news of her big screen project which, according to her, is a romantic film intertwining “love and music”. “It’s going to be a family movie that portrays Pakistani society and culture and stresses  on a woman’s respect in society,” Javed shared. She also said that the script is quintessentially Karachi-based and that it is going to be very entertaining.

According to the director, “It is a film based on music in which we are exploring the contrast between classical qawwali and modern pop music; a love story in between joins the contrast.”

While Javed will be playing the female lead around which the film revolves, the male star is yet to be finalized. With a number of popular drama serials under her belt, including Pyarey Afzal, Javed is known for her amazing dialogue delivery and expressions. Whether she is able to replicate the same on big screen or not, only time will tell.
