ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday said there is no need to lose hope and feel disappointed by the acts of terrorism.
Addressing a conference at National Defence University here, the Interior Minister said some political parties and individuals were trying to score brownie points over the security and interests of the country.
He said those who are resorting to negative propaganda must know that today all the graphs representing terrorism in Pakistan are pointing south.
He credited the improvement in the country’s security situation to political consensus and civil-military understanding.
Chaudhry Nisar held internal, regional and geo-political elements responsible for disrupting the country’s security.
He said apart from the enemy ‘some friends’ also want to take advantage of the situation by creating instability in the country.
The Interior Minister said unfortunately none of the previous governments could devise an internal security policy or framework.
He said five-six bomb blasts were the order of the day and both the life and property of the people were unsafe, he pointed out, regretting that the previous government turned a blind eye to all this.
The Interior Minister said, for the first time in the country’s history, the incumbent government succeeded in framing the internal security policy. “We formed the National Action plan with a consensus of all the political parties and also got it implemented,” he added.
