RAWLPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif Sunday said Pakistan holds its defence ties with Saudi Arabia in highest esteem and that any threat to Saudi Arabia’s territorial integrity would evoke a strong response from Pakistan.
He expressed these views while speaking to the Deputy Crown Prince and minister for defence of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad bin Salman Al-Saud who called on the COAS here at General Headquarters, according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Matters related to regional security and defence cooperation came under discussion during the meeting.
The Army Chief said Pakistan enjoys close and brotherly relations with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and attaches great importance to their security.
“Pakistan holds its defence ties with KSA in highest esteem and re-asserted that any threat to Saudi Arabia’s territorial integrity would evoke a strong response from Pakistan,” he said.
Saudi Defence Minister said KSA attaches great importance to Pakistan and its armed forces and appreciates their successes in fight against terrorism and efforts for regional stability.
The defence minister re-affirmed the Kingdom’s full support to Pakistan’s position on all matters.
