KARACHI: Police on Saturday presented former Malir SSP Rao Anwar before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) which sent him on judicial remand till May 2 in Naqeebullah murder case.
According to Geo News, Rao Anwar was sent to jail on judicial remand after he completed his 30-day physical remand in the murder case.
Another suspect Shakil was remanded in judicial custody till May 2 while the court extended judicial remand of 10 other suspects.
Last month, the ATC sent Rao Anwar on 30-day physical remand in Naqeebullah murder case a day after his dramatic appearance in the Supreme Court of Pakistan .
Dozens of police vehicles, armored personnel carrier (APC) and motorcycle riding policemen were part of the convoy that brought him to the court.
The former SSP went into hiding following allegations that he was involved in the extra judicial murder of Naqeebullah Mehsood, a native of South Waziristan, in Shah Latif Town.
The officer ignored Supreme Court orders for days before surrendering himself to the country's top court.
His name was placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) after Rao Anwar's bid to flee the country was foiled by officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at Islamabad's Benazir International Airport.
