ISLAMABAD: Sarfaraz Merchant, a UK-based Pakistani businessman and a suspect in London money-laundering case that also involves leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), has recorded his statement with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
According to sources, Sarfaraz Merchant who had earlier flown to Pakistan from UK on Monday recorded his statement before the FIA authorities and also submitted documentary evidence in London money laundering case.
After the recording of the statement, the FIA authorities are now in the process of preparing a report that will be presented to the Ministry of Interior.
It may be recalled, that he Interior Minsiter had ordered FIA to investigate into Sarfaraz Merchant’s statement given during Geo News programme ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath’ a few weeks back in connection with the London money laundering case.
