KLB aimed at starting civil war, claims Akram Durrani
Monday, October 19, 2009
By Syed Bukhar Shah

PESHAWAR: Blasting the government for accepting the Kerry-Lugar Bill, former chief minister and opposition leader in the NWFP Assembly Akram Durrani on Saturday said the United States was trying to start a civil war in Pakistan by the year 2010 through such assistance.

Talking to reporters, Durrani criticised President Asif Zardari-led government for compromising on principles. “The rulers are following the American agenda by accepting unacceptable conditions attached to the anti-people bill,” he added.

He said only the PPP was supporting the KLB with its conditions, while all other political parties were opposed to its terms.Durrani, who is the JUI-F parliamentary leader in the provincial assembly, came down hard on the government’s decision to recruit 11,000 men in the Police Department on temporary basis.
