 Sick of Taliban supporters
Friday, May 22, 2009
I am absolutely sick of people like Imran Khan, Munawar Hassan and other Taliban sympathisers who are opposing the military operation. They are nothing but opportunists who want political gains out of this situation. What does Mr Khan have to say about the slaughtering of men, flogging of women and blowing up of schools by the Taliban? What does he have to say about the constant fear that has gripped our nation? How can he justify this? And if after all this he still wants a dialogue with these barbarians then God save us from leaders!

By making such statements they are demoralising the army which is fighting for our very existence. We salute the Pakistan army, we stand by it and pray for the sons of this soil fighting for our future.

The other day I had a chance to listen to a maulana from the JUI-F. He was saying that the military should leave Malakand and dialogue must be started with the Taliban. Very well. Dialogue and discussion are the ways of the civilised world. However, his party chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, in a statement a couple of weeks ago had issued a blunt warning that the Taliban were marching towards Islamabad and were near the Tarbela Dam area. Essentially he meant 'do something'. What hypocrisy. First you incite the security apparatus and later when they start an operation you start shedding crocodile tears! Let's keep some facts straight. The JUI-F, the JUI-S and the JI are the incubators for all sorts of fanaticism in Pakistan.

I just saw a clipping on the internet in which three militants were slaughtering four to five men, one after the other. I could not see after the first one. One militant was holding his tied up legs, the other his hair and the third one slaughtering him with a knife. He put his severed head on the headless dead body for a close up. Then they started doing the other. I think those Taliban admirers and sympathisers (and we have many among us) need to see this and maybe they will have a second opinion on their support to these beasts.
