PPP in favour of student unions’ restoration: Bilawal
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, said that the PPP is in favour of restoration of student unions in educational institutions.
“Student unions are important so that students with their studies also become aware of political environment,” he said while addressing office bearers of People’s Student Federation at Zardari House, Islamabad, on Thursday. The PPP chairman said that PSF has a glowing history and students suffered immensely during General Ziaul Haq’s dictatorial rule.
He said that the PPP is striving for democratic culture and economic justice in the country. “Students are my strength and together we will change the society,” he said. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the PPP leadership and workers have rendered sacrifices for the country. “Students are the future leaders in their fields and some of them may join politics and lead the people,” he said.
He asked students to work for promoting peace, and democratic culture. Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Farhatullah Babar, Qamar Zaman Kaira and Chaudhry Manzoor were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, PTI Kamalia President called on Chairman Bilawal at Zardari House, Islamabad, and announced joining the PPP. PPP leaders from Mandi Bahauddin Azmatullah Marth, Brig (R) Izharul Hasan, Arslan Gondal, member National Assembly Shahida Rehman, Usman Saifullah, Rana Nasim Iqbal, President PPP, Islamabad, Iftikhar Shahzada and Salman Rana also had meetings with the PPP chairman.
