LEEDS: Australia captain Steven Smith won the toss at Headingley on Friday and elected to bat as his side looked to secure victory in their one-day international series against England.

Australia were looking to bat England out of the game and take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.

The 50-over World Cup champions made two changes to the side which lost at Old Trafford by 93 runs on Tuesday with seam bowler John Hastings replacing Mitchell Starc and Victoria all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, 26, earning a one-day debut in place of spinner Ashton Agar.

England captain Eoin Morgan was hoping his bowlers can exploit any early morning movement in the pitch as they try and take the series to a decider back at Old Trafford on Sunday.

England also made two changes in their bowling attack with Mark Wood returning in place of Steven Finn and David Willey replacing Chris Woakes on the ground where he will play county cricket next season after agreeing a move from Northamptonshire to newly-crowned champions Yorkshire.
