RAWALPINDI: At least 25 suspected terrorists were killed and seven of their hideouts destroyed in offences carried out by the security forces in South Waziristan and Khyber tribal agencies on Wednesday, Pakistan Army said.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were carried out in Sanzila area of South Waziristan and Khyber Agency’s Tirrah Valley earlier in the day.

It said that seven terrorist hideouts were destroyed and at least 25 militants were killed in the action.

The Pakistan Army launched a major offensive in 2014 against foreign and local militants, who were hiding in the northwestern tribal region bordering Afghanistan, a week after the brazen insurgent attack on the country's busiest airport in Karachi.
