CHARSADDA: A grieving widower on Friday held a local gynaecologist responsible for the death of his wife who died 40 minutes after giving birth to a baby girl.
Speaking at a press conference here at Charsadda Press Club, Badar
Alam, a resident of Umarzai area, said he had paid the doctor Rs2,000 less than what she charged her clients.
“After the delivery I was shifting my wife to Peshawar due to her precarious condition as she was constantly bleeding. But the doctor did not allow me to leave
the premises of her clinic unless she was paid her fee in full,” the widower complained.
He said that the gynaecologist administered few injections to stop the bleeding but refused to shift the patient to a medical facility in Peshawar unless she was paid the fee.
The resident demanded the authorities concerned to take note of the issue and provide them justice.
