SITE responsible for Baldia factory building plan, says SBCA

The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has rejected allegations that it was
involved in the approval of building plan for the Baldia Town garment factory that caught fire, causing the death of a large number of workers.
In a release on Friday, the SBCA said the factory was located in industrial area and fell under the jurisdiction of the Sindh Industrial and Trading Estate (SITE), which was responsible for approving construction plans of the industries in its area.
