JI chief questions OIC, UN’s credibility
CHARSADDA: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) head Senator Sirajul Haq on Saturday said that the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations (UN) had lost credibility.
Talking to reporters here, he said boycotting the OIC meeting in the United Arab Emirates would not hurt Pakistan’s interests as passing resolutions could not solve issues.
He asserted that Saudi Arabia and other friendly countries did not support Pakistan’s viewpoint on the Kashmir issue. Sirajul Haq said that peace could not be restored to the region without solving the Kashmir issue.
The JI leader said Pakistan stood isolated due to the flawed foreign policy of the incumbent government. He said that inviting India to the OIC meeting was diplomatic failure of Pakistan.
He alleged that solving the Kashmir issue was not the priority of the government.
“The Kashmiris have kept this issue alive by offering matchless sacrifices,” he remarked.
On Afghanistan, he said, the ongoing peace talks between the Taliban and the US should be all-inclusive. He said all stakeholders, including the Afghan government, should be included in the peace parleys.
