PESHAWAR: The Wana Welfare Association (WaWA) working for promotion of education in the South Waziristan has lauded the announcement of setting up first ever university for Fata.
The president of the WaWA, Faizullah Khan, in a statement thanked Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan for announcing to set up Fata University in the Frontier Region Kohat, saying it is more accessible to the people of all the tribal regions.
“Those who are criticising the setting up of Fata University in Frontier Region Kohat want to create hurdles in the promotion of education. The area selected for the university is more accessible to the tribesmen from Bajaur to Waziristan. It is also close to the provincial capital,” said Faizullah Khan.
The WaWA president praised the governor for his support to the promotion of education in the tribal areas, saying the tribal youth need education more than anything else.
WaWA had recently held a functioning in Peshawar on completion of 11 years since its revival that was attended by people from all walks of life, including governor, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar.
