HANGU: The journalists Wednesday staged a protest against the forced closure of the Mohmand Agency Press Club and termed it a bid to muzzle freedom of the press. The members of the Orakzai Press Club and activists of the Hangu professional media group and other journalists’ bodies participated in the rally. President of the Orakzai Press Club, Saleh Din Orakzai, president Hangu Professional Media Group Fazal Karim and central senior deputy president of the Tribal Union of Journalists Fata, Shaheed Khan led the protesters. They gathered outside the building of the Orakzai Press Club to stage the protest. The speakers alleged that the political admin of Mohmand Agency had closed the press club by force, which they said was tantamount to putting a ban on freedom of speech.
