BARA: Unidentified persons blew up a state-run school for girls in Bara teshil of Khyber Agency on Saturday night, sources said.
They said that the miscreants had planted explosives inside the primary school at Amin Khan Killay in Sipah area and triggered the explosion at night. The explosion caused partial damage to the school building, the added.
“A huge explosion was heard far and wide in the night that scared the residents of the area,” said a local, Imtiaz Afridi. Following the incident, the security forces carried out search operation against the miscreants but no arrest was made. According to an official of the Education Department about 156 schools had been destroyed or damaged in different areas in Khyber Agency during the last seven years.
