Speaking on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) SRSP Masoodul Mulk said that the project would be run as a social enterprise. It is, he added, a concept under which the SRSP managed the established projects under principles of financial sustainability and equitable sharing of benefits with the community for social development purposes.
He said the capacity of the community to manage the project would be enhanced and management gradually transferred to it.The CEO said that in addition to the power house at Birmogh, a power house of 700 kilowatts and 500 kilowatts were going to be established in Booni, Mastuj. “And work on the projects in Booni and Drosh would be initiated in the coming week,” he added.
He said that work was already in progress or completed on power houses of various sizes ranging from 150 kilowatts to 500 kilowatts in Bamburet, Ovir, Terich, Laspur, Khot and Rech. “The power house at Birmogh would be completed in nine months,” the SRSP CEO said amidst applauses by the locals.Earlier, the joyous locals thronged the meeting place in small processions from different parts of the area.
