Pulwama attack Indian conspiracy, says Baloch
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch said the attack on an Indian army convoy in Pulwama in held Kashmir on the eve of Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to Pakistan was a pre-planned Indian conspiracy to win the votes of hardline extremists ahead of elections.
Talking to newsmen at the funeral of veteran leader Muhammad Yunus Advocate, he said Kashmiris had been constantly striving for liberation of their land from Indian occupation and the Pulwama attack was a New Delhi’s effort to divert the world opinion. He said as a result of the Pulwama attack, the popularity of the ruling BJP among extremist Indians was increasing while the growing popularity of the rival Congress had been checked. He said during the last twenty years, Kashmiris had foiled every Indian conspiracy through their sacrifices. He said New Delhi’s blame on Pakistan for the incident was baseless because the Kashmiri struggle for the right to self-determination was indigenous and guaranteed by UN resolutions.
