The command of Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) was formally handed over to Maj Gen Umar Farooq Burki by the outgoing DG Maj Gen Khan Tahir Javed Khan on reaching to the age of superannuation on Thursday.
A grand reception was held in this regard at the Rangers Headquarters in which all sector commanders, officers and Jawans participated. The outgoing DG on the occasion said that he was handing over the command of Rangers to a competent, dedicated, professional and decent officer. The newly inducted DG Rangers Maj Gen Umar Farooq, Hilal Imtiaz (military), received commission from Pakistan Military Academy Kakol on September 6, 1984.
