TOKYO: The Pakistan government is considering the proposal to reduce import duties on hybrid vehicles to support low fuel consumption and environment in the country, sources in the government told The News on Thursday.
The government had already provided 50 percent duty discount on hybrid vehicles from 1300cc to 2500cc. the government support to hybrid car import in the country would help improve the environment and reduce the fuel consumption.
Now the government is considering the proposal to attract importers to import more number of hybrid cars in the country, which can help environment and fuel consumption.
In the upcoming budget, the finance minister might announce further reduction of up to 10 percent on hybrid cars, besides other duties will be maintained as usual.
