Wheat procurement starts on 17th
LAHORE: Lahore Deputy Commissioner Saleha Saeed has directed all assistant commissioners to commence preparation in regard with wheat procurement in all tehsils of the provincial capital.
She issued the orders while chairing a meeting. She said wheat procurement process would start on 8th of April and till 17th of April applications would be received from farmers for registration and issuance of gunny bags. She said the process of gunny bags distribution would be started on 22th of April and it would be made sure that it should be transparent and fair.
“There shall be establishment of four wheat procurement centres in diverse parts of the city for which direction has been passed. There shall also be facilities like sheds, sitting arrangements, water and fan in each centres,” said the DC.
She also instructed ADCR and Assistant Commissioners to coordinate with District Food Controller during the entire process of wheat procurement. Meanwhile, the DC Lahore also paid a visit to Lahore Bar Association to plant a tree there.
She along with Bar President planted saplings and said it was good initiative of Punjab government to protect the future generations of Pakistan. She said Lawyers community should come forward and vehemently participate in the clean and green drive. Assistant Commissioner City Ahmed Raza Butt also accompanied her on this occasion.
