RAWALPINDI: Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Tuesday said the government had released Rs1 billion for Mother and Child Hospital in the city and Finance Minister Asad Umar will release more funds for its completion.
Addressing a press conference here, he said, “We have finalised the Leh Expressway design and divided it into six bridges rather than 12 to avoid public difficulties. The previous governments has ruined the Rawalpindi city and its residents are facing shortage of hospitals. We are trying to establish a new city through this project to convert maximum traffic on the Leh Expressway, but we will impose toll tax. Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar will fix the rate of toll tax.”
He also announced establishment of a nursing training hospital and a college in the city to accommodate maximum number of women. Initially, 1,000 girls will be accommodated in the hospital, he said. Criticising Bilawal-Nawaz meeting at Kot Lakhpat Jail, he said the political career of PML-N and PPP leadership was no more.
