Arts Council Institute of Arts & Crafts to be granted university status
Barrister Murtaza Wahab said on Sunday that the Sindh government is planning to grant the status of university to the Karachi Arts Council’s Institute of Arts & Crafts.
The Sindh chief minister’s adviser on information & archives, law and anti-corruption was visiting the Arts Council with Pakistan Peoples Party Women Wing President MPA Faryal Talpur. They were welcomed by Arts Council Karachi President Muhammad Ahmed Shah and renowned TV figure Anwar Maqsood.
Extending her full support to Maqsood and his team for promoting theatrical productions in the country, Faryal appreciated his and Shah’s efforts in the revival of the stage drama in the country after a long time.
She said she would visit the Arts Council again to watch a theatre play with her family. Wahab said that the Sindh government has always supported art, culture and festivals in Karachi and in the rest of the province. “We have 5,000 years of rich and attractive culture, which we are really proud of.”
Shah and Maqsood appreciated the support and efforts of the provincial government. They said that any art-related festival, seminar, exhibition or show at the Arts Council cannot be successfully organised without the support of the Sindh administration. Faryal and Wahab later visited the art gallery of the Arts Council and appreciated the beautiful works being displayed there.
