Stray twine injures two bikers in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: Two motorcyclists were injured by kite string in separate incidents here on Saturday.

Amir, 18, was moving on his motorcycle when he reached near Nowshera Road a kite string hit him, leaving him injured. The police are investigating.

Abdul Haq, 65, was moving on his motorcycle and at GT Road overhead bridge, Gujranwala, he sustained injuries when a kite string hit him. The polic are investigating. 400 kite flyers arrested: The district police have booked 308 kite flyers across the district and arrested more than 400 and recovered thousands of kites from them current week.

On the directives of the CPO office, the police raided different areas and arrested the accused on charges of kite flying regulations.

The police recovered some 11,576 kites and 470 string rolls from them.

WIFE KILLER HELD: Baghbanpura police Saturday arrested a proclaimed offender (PO).

Accused Azeem Masih had hanged to death his wife over a domestic issue and escaped police.

After one year, Baghbanpura police arrested him. Further investigation is under way.
