PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance, Muzzaffar Said has urged the federal government to increase the share of the province under the head of war on terror from 1 per cent of the total divisible pool to 3 percent and special package for hosting IDPs and Afghan refugees. Talking to media here in Civil Secretariat Monday, he said that small provinces are one package and will force centre for securing their rights. He said that the provincial government has prepared case for the coming meeting of the National Finance Commission (NFC) and called for 10 percent allocation of the divisible pool on the basis of poverty, 5 percent on revenue and 2.7 percent on the basis f population density. The provincial minister said that in last NFC Award 1 percent share of the undivided total divisible pool was allocated for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to compensate it in head of war on terror. However, as the situation is still the same. Therefore, it should now be increased to 3 percent. Similarly, he said that the people of the tribal areas are also using the infrastructure of the province while Afghan refugees are also burden on its resources. Therefore, he also called for giving a special package to the province in this regard.
