BARA: Fifteen militants were killed and several others sustained injuries in air strikes by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighter aircraft in various areas of Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency on Tuesday, official sources said.
The sources said the fighter aircraft and helicopters bombed the sanctuaries of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) in Wacha Wona, Surkas, Seekhkot and other mountainous areas in the Kukikhel tribal territory.
They said five foreigners, including Uzbeks and Tajiks, were among the 15 militants who were killed in the air strikes. The sources claimed several militants were injured and five of their hideouts were destroyed in the attacks.
The sources said the Operation Khyber-2 was continuing at full scale in Tirah Valley. They added that heavy artillery, fighter aircraft and helicopters were being used against the militants for the last several days in Tirah to destroy their sanctuaries and evict them from the area.
