ISLAMABAD: Ambassadors of Saudi Arabia and UAE have offered their heartfelt condolences and expressed grief over the demise of Chairman Jang Group Mir Javed Rahman, who passed away in Karachi this week.
Saudi Ambassador Admiral (R) Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki and UAE envoy Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, while talking to The News here Friday reminded that Late Mir Javed Rahman was not a big name in Pakistan media, but he was well known in the Arab world’s press where he had numerous admirers. Mir Javed Rahman was an icon of developed media in Pakistan like his brother Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman who had special affection with the cause of Islam. The two well-respected diplomats have prayed that Allah Almighty grant the departed soul highest place in the heavens and give fortitude to the family and friends of the late media stalwart to bear the irreparable loss.
The UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi said that late Mir Javed Rahman was very keen observer of development of media in the UAE and maintained close contacts with the media high ups of his country who always hold him in high esteem.
Saudi Ambassador Admiral Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki said that Mir Javed Rahman was a true Muslim who kept fear of Allah very close to his heart and ever prepared to help the needy. The ambassador recalled that late Mir Javed Rahman visited Saudi Arabia every year in Ramazan and spend last days of the month in the Two Holy cities. He reminded that Mir Javed never asked for any favour while staying in the Kingdom since he was regular about his prayers and other Islamic obligations. Ambassador Nawaf said that Mir Javed’s death is a great loss of Pakistan’s media which will remember him as remarkable benefactor for a very long period of time.
