Four imposters arrested for blackmailing factory owner
Four suspects who were arrested by police for pretending themselves as journalists associated with an online channel and threatening a factory owner have been handed over to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) for investigations.
The New Karachi Industrial Area (NKIA) police on Wednesday night had arrested the four persons, including a woman, in Sector 6/B of the Industrial Area. The police said the suspects were carrying several cards of media organisations and had a press sticker affixed to their motorcycles.
The police said the suspects threatened a factory owner, Muhammad Ameen, that they would run a news on their online channel that he was violating the government’s order by running the factory during the lockdown regime if the owner did not pay them money.
While the suspects were threatening the factory owner to get his factory sealed by the authorities, the police said an investigation got the information and conducted a raid at the factory in which Naila, Dawood, Dilshad and Shahid were arrested. The police said cases have been registered against all suspects.
