WSSP to set up 100 hand washing points in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar is setting up 100 handwashing points throughout the provincial capital to promote hand washing with soap against coronavirus.
A press release says that so far, several points have been set up that are regularly being filled with water, while work on the remaining points is underway. The company has been disinfecting and fumigating roads, streets and public places to contain spread of the deadly coronavirus and prevent outbreak of dengue too.
The company has successfully completed first round of disinfection and fumigation in union councils under its jurisdiction. It has launched an awareness campaign, involving ulema and prayers leaders who called for implementation of precautionary measures against the deadly pandemic. Public awareness messages are being announced from 130 mosques, urging people to adopt precautionary measures against Covid-19. WSSP Chief Executive Officer Syed Zafar Ali has directed the zonal managers to expand the disinfection operation to maximum localities, for which the company is modifying the existing machinery to enhance its capacity.
