Adviser insists no flour crisis in KP
PESHAWAR: Adviser to Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Ajmal Wazir has said there is no flour crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“The Food Department has 180,000 tonnes of the wheat stock which is enough till May this year,” he said while briefing the media at the Civil Secretariat itlla Cell, said an official handout. The adviser said a special package would be given to the departments and personnel fighting on the front line against the coronavirus pandemic. He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was taking serious steps to deal with the coronavirus outbreak with the help of the federal government. The adviser said the distribution of the protective equipment was underway across the province. He said 2 71,000 masks have been distributed by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority so far in various districts of the province, while 2,000 litres of sanitizers distributed free of charge to the general public through Civil Defence volunteers. Ajmal Wazir said the stock of 50,000 N-95 masks from NDMA would reach Peshawar by tomorrow. The advisor stated that the government was enhancing the coronavirus testing in the province. He said besides the Khyber Medical University, and Hayatabad Medical Complex, private hospital Rehman Medical Institute has been allowed to conduct the coronavirus tests, he said and added that the coronavirus testing facilities would be provided to other districts hospital as well. Ajmal Wazir said strict action would be taken against the hoarders and artificial inflation would not be tolerated. He said instructions had been given to all divisional commissioners to take strict action against such elements. The adviser said that all department and stores would be remained closed except the essential one to stop the outbreak of coronavirus in the province.
