As many as four union Committees (UCs) of the District Municipal Corporation (DMC) East are sprayed with disinfectants on a daily basis on the directions of DMC East Chairman Moeed Anwar and Municipal Commissioner Waseem Mustufa Soomro.
Mosques, including Faizan-e-Madina, markets, banks and streets of UC No. 3, 4, 19 and 20 were sprayed with antibacterial medicines on Friday. Anwar said that with the Sindh government’s assistance, massive activity of spraying in different areas of the city was being carried out by the DMC East.
The DMC chairman requested the citizens to stay at home and stop roaming around on the streets unnecessarily. He said that the more people came out of their homes, the more virus would spread in the society increases.
“Even law enforcement agencies face difficulty when people come out of their homes,” he said, requesting people to respect the lockdown decision by the government.
Meanwhile, on the direction of DMC Central Chairman Rehan Hashmi, signs were marked outside banks, superstores and medical stores for citizens to observe at least one metre distance in DMC Central.
According to a press statement, Hashmi had identified 400 such spots where marks were to be made. He requested the citizens to follow these marks and only come out of their homes when it was important. He also directed to carry out antibacterial spray throughout the district.
