LAHORE: To avoid any interruption in supply chains, Punjab government’s home department announced extension in exemption given to some sectors. According to a notification available with The News, home department announced exemption in manufacturing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and its supply chain. To avoid flour shortage, the provincial government has given exemption in manufacturing of wheat packing materials and its supply chain.
To ensure availability of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), LPG outlets, storage, filling plants and its supply chain in the province was also given exemption. To make smooth flow of communication, the government has given exemption to postal courier services with essential office staff. Furthermore, no public dealing will be held at office. Pick and drop services will not be available at the doorstep. Home department has given exemption to microfinance institutions with essential staff.
It is pertinent to mention that home department had banned inter-province and inter-district movement of people by all means. The home department had already given exemption to the persons related to health services including hospitals, dispensaries, laboratories, and medical stores. Journalists, media houses, hawkers, Wasa, Wapda, NTDC, LAEs and DISCOs were already given exemption.
