LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has postponed physical fitness tests of the contracted national cricketers due to corona virus pandemic.
It has been learnt that the PCB amidst fear of spread and precautions as prevention of corona virus took the decision of calling off the test for now. But the players have been advised to keep their fitness in certain standards required for the centrally contracted cricketers. The centrally-contracted players of the national teams and first and second strings of six regional teams were to undergo fitness test from the second week of April but that were postponed till further directions. According to national and provincial players’ central contract, cricketers have to undergo fitness tests every three months and their next test was due in April.
An official of the PCB revealed that once the conditions are controlled, the players’ fitness test dates will be determined. However, the coaches have been instructed the players to continue individual training at home.
