MANSEHRA: The district administration on Monday arrested 26 shopkeepers and nine owners of snooker clubs, who continued business activities and didn’t shut their shops and clubs.
Assistant Commissioner Tillat Fahad visited various bazaars and later produced the arrested persons before a magistrate on duty who sent them to jail on the judicial remand. She also sealed all 35 shops and clubs and reiterated to continue raids to ensure government writ.
The partial lockdown was witnessed in Mansehra, Upper Kohistan, Lower Kohistan and Kolai-Palas districts. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had notified closure of shops and suspension of intra-district transports mobility as precautionary measures to contain coronavirus outbreak.
The passenger transport remained off the roads in Mansehra and its suburbs and main bus terminal presented a deserted look as according to locals, the district administration also didn’t allow even local transport to ply the roads. The tehsil municipal administration also carried out a chlorine spray through fire tenders in the city and its suburbs as part of precautionary measures to contain coronavirus, Chief Food Sanitary Inspector Mohammad Siddique said.
