LAHORE: Provincial Auqaf Minister Syed Saeed-ul-Hassan Shah has said that in the light of the holy Quran and Hadith anyone affected by coronavirus is not supposed to offer congregational prayers because due to his/her disease other people may also get affected.
According to the government directions, public gatherings, religious congregations and other conferences should be avoided, the minister said while addressing a press conference at Directorate General Public Relations, Punjab, in connection with coronavirus.
Auqaf Secretary Dr Irshad Ahmed, Auqaf Director General Syed Tahir Raza Bukhari, other officers and large number of reporters from print and electronic media were also present. The minister maintained that in the wake of the current coronavirus situation, all religious scholars had supported government’s preventive measures being taken against coronavirus.
