SUKKUR: As many as 757 pilgrims returning from Iran and Iraq and kept at Taftan border on Wednesday were brought to isolation units at Labour Colony, Sukkur. A team of doctors screened them and obtained their blood samples for Coronavirus test at the isolation units. According to reports, 143 positive cases were reported out of 293 tested pilgrims.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioners of Khairpur, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Ghotki, Naushahro Feroze, Hyderabad, Thatta, Umarkot, Sanghar and other partially locked down hotels, shopping malls, playgrounds, parks and other public places in line with the cabinet decision.
In a related development, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has involved his cabinet members and advisers to monitor and supervise the preventive measures, status of the isolation units and related administrative steps taken over Coronavirus in 29 districts of the Sindh. Shah also directed them to set up their offices in the assigned districts, take on board to deputy commissioners, SSPs and health officials and keep the CM House updated about the daily situation.
